Thai Airways International has received its first Airbus A350-900 XWB on 30th August 2016. The airline is the eighth operator of the new Airbus widebody type.
Thai will initially fly the aircraft on regional services between
Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Soon thereafter, it will be deployed on the Bangkok-Melbourne route. Thai intends to twelve A350s. Four will be purchased directly from Airbus, the other eight are to be leased from lessor CIT in the US.
Thai has configured its A350-900 with a two class layout with 321 seats: 32 in Royal Silk Class, and 289 in the main cabin.
