767 Tanker makes first test flight

Boeing and the U.S. Air Force say to have made a successful first flight with the KC-46 tanker aircraft. The plane, a Boeing 767-2C, took off from Paine Field, Washington for a three hours and 32 minutes flight.

SF Airlines orders Boeing 767BCFs

The Chinese courier company SF Airlines (ShunFeng Airlines) has placed an order for an undisclosed number of Boeing 767-300ER passenger-to-freighter conversions (Boeing Converted Freighters). SF Airlines, a subsidiary of Shenzhen Airlines, will accept its first redelivered 767 in the second half of 2015.

Not only the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet is taken out of service with the airlines, the 767 is under pressure too. Qantas is going to phase out its Boeing 767s and puts them in the desert where they will be stripped for parts.

What price a Boeing widebody jet?

Want to buy an aircraft? A widebody aircraft in particular? What do you think how much that costs? Boeing recently adapted its catalogue prices 3.1 per cent upwards, and that is almost twice the level of price "correction" last year.

You go for the biggest and most advanced? Boeing's most expensive jet is the 777-9X twin-engined airliner (see image). That costs 388.7 million dollar (290 million euro). If you prefer a four-engined 747-8I Intercontinental with more engines and more space, then you pay less, "only" 367.8 million dollar.

WestJet to operate Boeing 767-300ER

The Canadian low-budget airline WestJet is going to fly four Boeing 767-300ERW aircraft on routes between Alberta and Hawaii during the winter season beginning in late 2015. The airline's current winter services between Alberta and Hawaii are operated by two Boeing 757-200s from Thomas Cook. Coming winter is the last period that these aircraft are flown on behalf of WestJet. WestJet is planning expansion into more overseas markets starting in the summer of 2016. WestJet's current fleet comprises Boeing 737-600s, -700s and -800s.
