Qatar Airways has taken delivery of its first Airbus A380 on Tuesday 16 September. The aircraft was handed over at a ceremony in Hamburg, to Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive. Qatar has ten A380 aircraft on order.
Qatar Airways accommodates 517 passengers in its A380s: 461 in Economy, 48 in Business and 8 in First Class. First and Business Class cabins are located on the aircraft’s upper deck, along with a special lounge area for premium passengers.
Qatar Airways is the 12th airline to fly the A380. The airline’s first A380 will make its debut on the Doha - London Heathrow route, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle. Qatar's first A380 is expected to arrive at Doha on Thursday 18 September. (Photo: Airbus)
