Transaero: no 787s but more 747s

The Russian carrier Transaero Airlines has converted an outstanding order for four Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners into four Boeing 747-8I aircraft. Delivery is scheduled to begin in 2015. The airline already had four 747-8s on order.

According to Transaero "commercial" factors led to the decision to drop the Dreamliners and add more 747's to its fleet. With twenty 747-400s in service, plus 14 Boeing 777s and 18 Boeing 767s, Transaero is already a big widebody operator. The airline expects to receive the first of four Airbus A380 megajets in 2015.
