The Airbus A350-900 has completed a series of route proving trials to fourteen cities worldwide over the past three weeks. According to Airbus the new airliner has successfully demonstrated that it is ready for airline operations.
The trials were required to obtain the type certification, which is expected in the coming weeks. The A350 XWB test aircraft that was used for the trials (MSN005), arrived back on its nest in Toulouse on August 13, coming from Helsinki, Finland. During its World Tour, the aircraft flew approximately 151,300 km (81,700 nm) in some 180 flight hours. All flights were performed on schedule.
