Taipei Taoyuan Airport readies gates for A380

If the Airbus A380 will ever become a sales success, than it must at least be made possible to fly it to more airports. Taipei Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan understands this very well. The airport is going to renovate two boarding gates in Terminal 2 to accommodate handling of the megajet.

WantChinaTimes.com reports that airport president Fei Hourng-jiun said on Sunday that the installation of air bridges for the double decker aircraft is expected to be completed by March 2015. The gates can also be used by smaller aircraft. According to Fei several airlines are interested in flying the A380 to the airport.
Since February this year the south runway is under reconstruction to make it suitable for use by the Airbus megajets. The overhaul of the runway will be completed by the end of the year.
